Unboxing│DM box

Hello there everyone!

Today's post is about the first DM beauty box available in the Czech Republic. I quite enjoy browsing through DM (which is a German drugstore chain) aisles so I thought why not to try it out. The price was also lower than other beauty boxes so there was really no harm in it.
The system is a little different than your regular subscription box. You have to send an e-mail to confirm you're interested in this box, and only limited number of people are sent e-mails they've been chosen (I think it was every third person, 2000 people max -- but I'm not really sure).

Let's dive in, shall we!

1. Rexona Maximum Protection antiperspirant in Confidence│2. Sundance tinted moisturizer/sunscreen with SPF 30│3. Dermacol Aroma Ritual Juicy shower gel in Rhubarb & Strawberry│4. Garnier Oil Beauty body lotion│5. Balea After Sun 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner│6. Colgate Max White One Optic toothpaste│7. Rimmel 60 Seconds nailpolish by Rita Ora in Don't Be Shy│8.,9.,10. Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Repair shampoo, Weleda body lotion, and Ria tampons samples

I have to say I'm overall pretty impressed. This Rexona one is my antiperspirant of choice (although I'm sure the ingredients are not the friendliest ones, it works wonderfully on me), and it isn't exactly the cheapest one out there, so it's really great to have a new one when I run out of mine. I've worn the Sundance sunscreen two times now and I'm liking the fact that it has light coverage and high SPF - ideal for Summer. I love the smell of this Dermacol shower gel, too! I was in need of a new body moisturizer so this Garnier one really comes in handy. It smells quite subtle, sinks in well and really does the job. The Balea shampoo also looks quite practical for Summer, since it's supposed to protect your hair from UV rays and to help to get rid of sand/chlorine/seasalt residue in your hair. I'll let you know how it is! The Colgate toothpaste might be quite unattractive in a box for someone, but since I've wanted to try this one out myself, it's no problem at all to me! The Rimmel nail polish  is in a pretty fuchsia shade. I haven't tried it yet, it looks quite pretty for Summer, too, though.

In summary, I'm glad I was one of the people who got to buy this box. I think it's really good value for money (for example, only the antiperspirant is the same price as the box was) and filled with cool things for the Summer that everyone can get some use out of!

Do you have DM in your country? Can you get the DM box there? What are your thoughts on this one?
Hope you enjoyed this post, and see you soon!

Empties│January

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to talk a little about some used up products that have gathered over the past couple weeks.

The first photo is 'Face products'. The Alverde facial wash cream is aimed at combination/oily skin and it was alright but a little bit drying. I quite liked it but won't repurchase, as I've already bought different facial washes to try out. I only really bought the L'Oreal Sublime Soft micellar water because I had like, 20 or 30% off on it and I was on a tight budget, and again, it was an okay product, but I found out it smelled really weird after applying it on my face, and as I don't like L'Oreal, I won't be repurchasing. Essence Pureskin nose strips, on the other hand, are quite a staple for me. Not really sure if this whole nose strips business is really working that much, but I certainly like them better than eg. the Nivea ones. The Sans Soucis Aqua Benefits 24h moisturizer was a favourite of mine. It feels nice, lightweight but still moisturizing and it didn't irritate my skin at all. I got it in a beautybox and the only reason I won't be repurchasing is the price, unfortunately. The Body Shop camomile gentle eye make up remover was a whole different case. It was burning in my eyes when I used it and made them all red. I had to stop using it and eventually I just had to throw it away.

Now onto the 'Other products'. I really liked Sephora's daily makeup brush cleanser, and I might be repurchasing but I'd prefer to find a cruelty free alternative. I got the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle sample from my Dad while I was in Germany at his place, and really liked what it did to my hair. I might buy the full-sized bottle in the future. Marks & Spencer is a great place to buy travel-sized stuff to put in your bag, and these Citrus zest hand wipes were..well, great. I got the miniature size of Soap & Glory's The Righteous Butter in a giftset I bought in German Douglas (as you can't get the brand in The Czech Rep) and I love the whole set, so no surprise I loved this thingie too. It smells just perfect and feels really moisturizing! Would repurchase right away.

So these were my empties, hope you liked this post. Have a great day, lovelies!

New in│Drugstore buys

Hi people! I've been so busy with life I had no time to blog. I'm gonna write about some of that later, though, now onto some on-a-tighter-budget drugstore buys!

I was in fact on a hunt for a nice smelling body care product and as soon as I took a sniff of the Balea cocoa body butter, I was sold. It reminds me of The Body Shop's Chocomania range! The choice of conditioner was kind of a spur of the moment and I must say that so far it didn't impress me. It's not bad but nothing awesome. If there's something I definitely DON'T need, it's lippies. Anyway, I got 190 The Nuder The Better by Catrice and 01 Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate. The nailpolishes were on sale and they are 405 Rose Libertine by Rimmel, a very pretty retro-ish coral/pink shade, and Mistero Grey by Gabriella Salvete, a sparkle bomb with a sandy finish. The last thing I got is an eyeshadow duo by Dermacol I intend to carry around in my makeup bag for touch-ups and emergency cases.

What have you bought lately? Do you buy drugstore cosmetics?

Have a lovely evening!

Life lately│Birthday, vegan baking and so on

Good evening, everyone! Today is my 22nd birthday, it's weird, I don't really feel like 22 yet but who am I to complain, right? Today was a little too rushed for my liking but my Mom came back home from her knee surgery in hospital, so I was really glad. In the afternoon, I met up with my friends Barbara and John and we headed to a cupcake-business-related meeting with our logo/website creator, a crazy-talented guy! Afterwards, I managed to buy birthday presents (long live Lush!) for my friends Jules and Misha whom we're having a bday party with tomorrow. Also I popped at Marks&Spencer to buy some Halloween candy, can't wait for Halloween as I love it to death.

Lee Stafford Hold Tight Hairspray & Nourishing Miracle Oil (Profimed), Sephora 3D Graphic Nails, Too faced Shadow Insurance & Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner (Sephora), shirt (Jennyfer)
Some of my presents and a manicure I created with the Sephora kit, it was cool but I couldn't have stopped picking at the studs, what a little kid I am.

The first time I'd ever baked vegan stuff. It was pretty tricky, especially the frosting but the result was quite tasty. I still need to perfect it, though.

Photos from our show last Saturday. The first photo's our whole band, Emergency (Paul, me, John) and the second is me with Alex, my dear friend and ex-band mate from my former band.

Finally, I'd like to do a little self-promo! If you like cupcakes, muffins and stuff like that, feel free to check out our Instagram page or like Monster Cupcakes on facebook here. Sorry to be shameless like that except I'm not sorry.

I hope everyone's doing great, I'm now waiting for my boyfriend to arrive and we're gonna watch a movie together. Quite nice birthday!
